Canary Islands

Almost, I would it call a second or third home. From the climate and fauna point of view, maybe also the life-style, it is absolutely comparable with the area at the Garden Route (from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town) at the Indian Ocean.

Of course, the Canary Islands have the big advantage to be closer (half the distance) to Germany. Especially, the islands of La Palma and El Hierro offers everything what the heart of a hiker desires.

Endless spring, sea and mountains, astonishing flora and 100 kms of marked trails and after a good day with hiking you can enjoy the best sea food ever.
